NB: The Centre for Eye Health will be providing each of its SCOPE* events at an introductory and an intermediate level. Only attend one of each SCOPE session as some content will be repeated.
The Diagnostic challenges in peripheral retinal examinations SCOPE events will be held at Centre for Eye Health on the UNSW Kensington campus. They will consist of a series of short lectures and case studies. By attending either of these events you will gain 6 CPD points.
*SCOPE is Centre for Eye Health's 'Series of Continuing Ophthalmic Professional Education'.
SUMMARY

Introductory course: 22 February 2012

Intermediate course: 21 March 2012
The focus of these SCOPE events is the diagnosis and management of vision threatening peripheral retinal pathologies. The event will also include the application and interpretation of new technologies.
The introductory session focus on common conditions of the peripheral retina. The intermediate session will focus on diagnosis and management of more challenging peripheral retinal lesions. Some information will be repeated in the intermediate SCOPE session, we advise that you only enrol in one course.
You should consider booking into the intermediate course if you:

Regularly dilate your patients’ pupils (at least once a week)

Have a reasonable understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the retina
This two hour CPD event is comprised of presentations and case studies. At the end of this session, attendees will have an improved ability to:

Diagnose vision-threatening peripheral retinal pathologies

Understand which conditions require referral and the urgency of referral
-
Understand the potential role of new imaging technologies in diagnosis and management of peripheral retinal pathologies

Diagnose and manage vision-threatening peripheral retinal pathologies and less common peripheral retinal lesions
ATTENDING
SCOPE events are intended for optometrists registered with CFEH. If you are not registered but would like to do so in order to attend these events, please contact the Centre via the contact details below. Note: Registration is free.
PAYMENT
A fee of $50 (gst inclusive) is payable to cover the costs of delivering this SCOPE event.
DISCOUNT: A $15 discount is available to optometrists who have referred patients to CFEH.
CANCELLATION POLICY
We acknowledge that sometimes there is a need to cancel your attendance. If you inform us that you cannot attend:

Up to one week before the event, we will refund the full cost of your ticket.

During the week before the event, 50% of the fee will be refunded.

On the day of the event, no refund can be given.
Note: We are also happy to provide a credit to attend a future SCOPE event within 6 months.
